Sending global messages

A global message reaches every user connected to the current room, or to every room of the world. There are three kinds:

Text message: shown as a popup at the top of the screen, with a sound.
Audio message: an audio file (MP3, OGG...) played to everyone.
Live message (the "Megaphone"): your camera, microphone and/or screen, broadcast live.

Global messages are sent from within WorkAdventure, not from the administration panel.

Who can send global messages

Text and audio messages require the "admin" tag. Add it to the member in the members list.
Live messages require the megaphone to be enabled for the room, and the user to have one of the tags listed in its Rights (or anyone, if the list is empty). The "admin" tag does not bypass these rights. See Broadcast with the megaphone to set it up.

Users with neither right don't see the Send global message button.

Log in to WorkAdventure with a member that has the right tag.
In the action bar, click Tools > Send global message. The Global communication window opens.
Pick the kind of message:
- Send a text message: type your message. Tick Broadcast to all rooms of the world to reach the whole world instead of the current room. Click Send.
- Send an audio message: upload your file, tick Broadcast to all rooms of the world if needed, and click Send.
- Start live message: pick your camera, microphone and/or screen, then click Start megaphone. It reaches the room or the world depending on the megaphone's Scope. Click Stop megaphone when you are done.
